One doctor allegedly ‘collaborated’ with the BBC star in selecting child patients to rape at Leeds General Infirmary.
At Leeds General Infirmary, two former women patients have come forward to name a doctor. He is accused of ‘brutal rape’.
1965: Records show abuse started at the BBC, at Leeds general infirmary, where Savile was a long-term volunteer porter, and at Stoke Mandeville hospital, where he also volunteered.

Savile’s favourite restaurant – Flying Pizza Restaurant
Jimmy Savile ‘Wore Huge Rings Made From Glass Eyes Of Dead Bodies’ He Claimed
The photograph of the old man with the wild eyes and wispy grey hair (Savile) has long been removed from the walls of the Flying Pizza in Roundhay, Leeds. But during a busy lunchtime this week at the bar of what was his favourite restaurant, the ghost of Jimmy Savile lingers.
The Flying Pizza and his nearby penthouse apartment overlooking Roundhay Park were, until his death two years ago, the centre of Savile’s Leeds empire.
Disturbing footage shows Jimmy Savile groping teenage girl while being filmed by Louis Theroux while at a restaurant
Jimmy Savile can be seen sexually assaulting a young girl in front of her mother in a video.
The incident took place in Flying Pizza restaurant and Savile apparently knows the girl’s mother who was also present when Savile assaulted her.
The influence Savile claimed to wield over the police is shocking, but was no secret at the Flying Pizza, where the TV presenter would talk of his “hotline” to officers. “He used to come in here on his own and talk about the Friday meetings,” says Francis, a 63-year-old retired doorman who knew Savile well from the late Sixties onwards.
Speaking for the first time, he says: “He used to take great delight in telling people that if he had any problems, his friends at Millgarth [the former city centre West Yorkshire Police headquarters] would sort it out. He would say: ‘If I think I’ve got a problem, all I’ve got to do is make a phone call.’ ”

Leeds General Infirmary – Edward Heath and Jimmy Savile 8th December 1972
Private patients meals to be cut in freeze protest
09 Dec 1972 The Guardian
Mr Heath barracked by 50 ancillary workers during a visit to Leeds General Infirmary yesterday.
Among the demonstrators was disc jockey Jimmy Savile. who works as a voluntary porter at the hospital. Dressed as a doctor, he stepped forward and offered his assistance as Mr Heath’s personal physician.
Mr Heath, in Yorkshire for a dinner at York Racehorse last night. spent three-quarters of an hour visiting wards and speaking to patients and hospital staff. Earlier, at the women’s hospital near by, he set the marker stone for the new Leeds General Infirmary.
Leeds General Infirmary, the old ceremonial visitors’ book, which was in use from 1921 until 1984…
The first signature dates from January 1921, when eminent LGI surgeon sir Berkeley Moynihan provided the first entry, and the very last signature is that of Katherine, HRH The Duchess of Kent, on the occasion of the official opening of the Clarendon Wing on 10 May 1984.
Royal and political visits are among the common themes over the years.
Most of the entries are very simple but two of the more elaborate pages mark the visit of HRH Prince Philip on 3 November 1961 to open the Martin Wing, and the visit by the then Prime Minister, Edward Heath, to set in place the marker stone for what would become the Clarendon Wing, on 8 December 1972.
Among the other entries it is interesting that in June 1932 a five-strong German delegation visited the Infirmary for two days in a visit that seems to have been connected with the Red Cross. This was a turbulent time in German history, less than a year before Adolf Hitler became Chancellor.
Other visitors over the years included Countess Edwina Mountbatten of Burma (1955); actress and singer Dame Anna Neagle (1959), William Temple, Archbishop of York (1932) and Nobel prize winner Henry H Dale (1961).
Leeds /Heart Appeal, Savile/Cliff Richard/Jill Dando, Duke of Devonshire/Sir Rodney Walker
The charity began life as the Friends of Killingbeck Hospital in 1990, with Mr Bloom starting fundraising after undergoing a heart bypass operation at the Leeds hospital. The Hospital Heartbeat Appeal was officially launched in 1994 when the late Duke of Devonshire agreed to become president and patron.
The Heartbeat Appeal has benefited from the backing of many celebrities over the years, including Sir Jimmy Savile, Richard Whiteley, Sir Cliff Richard and the late Jill Dando, who served as patron of the appeal.

The League of Mercy was originally founded in 1899 to encourage and recognise voluntary work in hospitals and the community, but gradually wound down after the launch of the NHS in 1948. It was refounded as a registered charity in 1999 and now continues the work of the original founder – the then Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII.

Fundraising events have been backed by the likes of Cliff Richard and Rory Bremner and newsreader Jill Dando was a patron until her tragic death. Supporters also include the Countess of Halifax, who is the charity’s president, former Leeds United football hero Jack Charlton and author Barbara Taylor Bradford.
Top businessman and fellow vice-president Sir Rodney Walker said: “Alec has been the driving force behind the charity and, under his stewardship, Heartbeat has made a significant contribution to the diagnosis, treatment and continuing care of heart patients for more than a decade.”
Alec’s retirement coincides with three new appointments. Lord St Oswald of Nostell, near Wakefield, is the charity’s new president, having played an active role as a vice-president for three-and-a-half years. He takes over from the Countess of Halifax. The Vice-Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, John Brennan, has become a patron and a vice-president, alongside Sir Rodney Walker who has served as a vice-president and patron for many years. Long-standing Heartbeat supporter Ann Hughes, from Doncaster, has also become a patron

Freemason support of Heartbeat Appeal
Hereford Hospital received a £98,000 ultrasound 4D echocardiogram machine, following a three-year appeal supported by local Freemasons.
Claire Cassidy, the British Heart Foundation fund-raising manager for Hereford and Worcester, said that the machine ‘places Hereford at the forefront of cardiac screening’.
The region has a higher-than-average incidence of heart disease, and the demand for cardiac screenings is on the rise. At the Heartbeat Appeal presentation, Herefordshire Deputy Provincial Grand Master, the Reverend David Bowen, expressed his pleasure at local masons’ input.

Campaign now under way for tribute to city’s favourite son
Savile’s death on the morning of October 29, 2011, was certified by Prof Alistair Hall, his cardiologist, who had been called to his flat by the concerned caretaker and family members.
Professor Alistair Hall, the award-winning Leeds cardiologist and Jimmy’s close friend, was one of the last to see Jimmy alive. He had called at his flat on the Friday night before he died and unsuccessfully tried to persuade him to go into hospital. Jimmy had said that he wanted to die at home in his own bed. He seemed to know the end was nigh.

Professor of Cardiovascular Epidemiology & Consultant in Cardiology. Father of two outstanding human beings who are Junior Doctors. Mentor.
Professor Alistair Hall, senior consultant cardiologist at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospital, said: “I am 100 per cent in agreement that the wonderful Sir Jimmy should be made Freeman of the City. “Despite his fame he still volunteers at the hospital and the list of good work and fundraising he has done is too long to list. “He has supported a lot of cardiology research and helped with The Family Heart Study and toured on the big red bus across the UK. He has helped us to fundraise to buy a special scanner and only recently donated a large amount of money to fund scholarships for junior doctors.” The senior cardiologist, who carried out Sir Jimmy’s quadruple heart bypass operation a decade ago, said the broadcaster and sportsman was an amazing person who fully deserved to be honoured publically. Charities Sir Jimmy has raised more than 40m during his lifetime for various charities, including the Leeds Hospitals. He has run 217 marathons and countless fun runs. Catholic Church bosses in Leeds also backed calls for Sir Jimmy to be honoured. A spokesman for the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds, said: “Over the years Sir Jimmy has done lots of good work for the church. As long as the 1960s while busy being famous, he used to help with collections at the former Sacred Heart church. Mavis Price, Sir Jimmy’s friend and one of his helpers, said: “It is high time Jimmy was made a Freeman. I have written to the council before about it. He does so much.”

…the astonishing attempt by cardiology professor Alistair Hall, PR director Karl Milner, and others to get their hands on Savile’s estate.
To recap, Hall, who was Savile’s doctor as well as his friend, gave a eulogy for him at the funeral in which he claimed that Savile had left much of his estate to endow a heart institute at LGI. Savile’s will contained nothing of the sort. It turns out from the report that Hall, Milner, and company had a get-together between his death and the funeral to decide how best to get their (institutional, rather than personal) hands on his money.

What is Really Happening at Leeds General Infirmary?
11 Mar 2015
Parents of children who died or were injured on operating tables at Leeds General Infirmary continue to seek answers about the state of the hospital’s child cardiac unit. Uncertainty persists and, two years on from the unit’s temporary closure, the messages about the fallout from the closure remain mixed.
Cardiac Surgery by Numbers
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust website continues to list Nihal Weerasena as a consultant surgeon, despite his having apparently been suspended for almost three years. On its child cardiac consultant listings, the Trust also features Rafael Guerrero, who left the unit around two years ago; its consultant database also lists Kevin Watterson, another retired surgeon.
In the late 1980s, another member of hospital staff began to look after Savile’s correspondence and deal with enquiries for him
From 2005 until 2010, this member of staff was also a Trustee for the Jimmy Savile Charitable Trust. They were paid by the hospital until September 2007. After this date, they received an
honorarium from the Charitable Trust.

Mavis Price and Jimmy Savile – at Barden Tower…

“But the two women wanted him to stay, and he ended up having a whisky with them.
Jimmy Savile with friends, Mavis Price and (Professor/cardiologist Mohan Sivananthan?)
Running over three pages of A4, the last will and testament of Sir James Wilson Vincent Savile lists 18 individuals he wanted remembered.
They include lifelong friends such as 85-year-old Joseph Barker, whom he met at St Anne’s primary school in Leeds, and Professor Mohan Sivananthan, a hospital cardiologist, whom he met through his charitable works.
(Savile) invited her along to a photo call for the opening of the new offices for the Yorkshire Evening Post…The 22 yr old Prince Charles, who was the guest of honour, seemed to find the whole thing hilarious.
Savile was invited to open new offices for the Yorkshire Evening Post and persuaded Sue to go with him and pose alongside him wearing a mini skirt and boots.
‘I think he even had his hand up my skirt,’ she says, laughing at the memory.
Also there is Sue Hymns in his will
Final embrace: Sir Jimmy Savile and Sue Hymns’ last date at their favourite pizza restaurant, two months before his death at the age of 84
The first meeting between Sue Hymns and Jimmy Savile is recorded faithfully in her diary, dated September 23, 1968.
‘Saw Jimmy Savile at the hospital,’ the entry reads. ‘Met him again at 5.15pm and he gave me a lift to the bus stop in his taxi.’
Back then, Sue was a stunningly pretty 18-year-old on her way to a doctor’s appointment at Leeds General Infirmary, while Savile — thanks to his role as presenter of Top Of The Tops — was Britain’s most famous DJ.
But on the day in question, Savile was doing a shift as a volunteer porter at the city’s hospital
Photographs of her and Jim together over the years adorn the walls: a faded shot of them in a Leeds café, not long after they met; another dressed up together for a Lord Mayor’s banquet.
The final one, at their favourite restaurant, The Flying Pizza in Leeds, was taken just two months before he died.
Professor Mohan Sivananthan, Leeds Teaching Hospitals consultant cardiologist who will lead the work to set up the new institute and was a friend of Sir Jimmy’s, said: ‘I feel very privileged to have got to know Sir Jimmy over the years and valued his friendship and support extremely highly.
‘I was absolutely delighted to hear that Sir Jimmy decided to remember us in his will

Businessman claims he overheard Jimmy Savile seek police officer’s help to avoid sex abuse probe

Savile and his police ‘crony’: Former inspector ‘intervened in sex abuse investigation on DJ’s behalf and acted as his minder’
- Mick Starkey, 61, drove Savile’s Rolls-Royce and attended the DJ’s ‘Friday Morning Club’
- He apparently contacted Surrey Police before they interviewed star in 2009
- IPCC has launched an investigation into the allegations against ex-officer
Did Jimmy Savile fix his interrogation?
Jimmy Savile’s close links with police are coming to light
During the interview, Savile, by then aged 82, stressed his social connections with senior officers in his hometown of Leeds, and indicated that he could call in “favours” from them.
There is some evidence that these were not the mere ramblings of an ageing celebrity. The 44-page report – by Surrey Police into its own failed investigation into sexual abuse at a children’s home in Staines – details how an unnamed inspector in West Yorkshire Police had telephoned Surrey on Savile’s behalf to arrange the interview.
It was a brazen breach of police protocol. Here was a suspected sex offender getting a senior officer to broker a meeting with detectives. It enabled Savile to dictate the terms of his interrogation. The meeting took place not at a police station, but in the altogether cosier surroundings of his home-from-home at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire, where he also abused patients.
Police cover up Savile’s claims to be friends with Queen’s cousin: Paedophile ‘visited school at centre of abuse allegations with Princess Alexandra’
- Paedophile Savile mentioned first trip to school at centre of abuse claims
- He said he was with Princess Alexandra, a patron of the school
- Made claims during police interview, the transcription of which was edited
- Information was removed by Surrey Police but has now been unveiled
3.21 DC1 and DS6 interviewed Savile on tape under caution at his private office at Stoke Mandeville Hospital on 1st October 2009.

N.B. Barden lends its name to the so called “Barden Triangle” an area of supposed supernatural activity which includes the magical Elbolton Hill near Thorpe and the nightmarish ravine that is Trollers Gill near Appletreewick.]
The so-called “Barden Triangle” is defined as an area around the head of Lower Wharfedale which includes weird places having supposedly supernatural associations such as the reputedly haunted limestone gorge of Troller’s Gill, the strange conical knoll of Elbolton Hill (said to be the “Hill of the Fairies“) and the Dibble’s Bridge (which – along with several similar other old bridges in England – was allegedly built by the Devil).
The area of Barden (including Barden Tower and Barden Bridge) forms the southern apex of the triangle, with Cracoe and the Cracoe Reef Knolls and the top end of Troller’s Gill roughly defining the northern-most edges. [N.B. If you do visit, make sure to look out for this cheeky chappie; he’ll be looking out for you !]
Villages lying within the triangle include Appletreewick, Burnsall, Linton and Grassington.

Photographer Dave Cropper is the man behind many of the photos of Sir Jimmy.
He told Channel 4 News: “In my lifetime pop music has always played a big part, and I grew up with Jimmy on TV as presenter of Top of the Pops and Jim’ll Fix It.
Mavis, of Leeds, said: “Jimmy was a big and important part of my life. I will always treasure many happy memories of fun times we had while I was in his company.”
Jake Timothy, consultant neurosurgeon, , said: “My first meeting with Jimmy Savile was in 1975, I used to ride my bicycle up Princess Avenue near his home and Jimmy was often riding his cycle too. At that time it was Top of the Pops and ‘Clunk-click every trip’ but he was always polite despite his celebrity status. “I didn’t really get to meet him until after my training in London and returning back to Leeds, when Mavis Price introduced me to him again as we were planning to have some surgeons come to LGI to learn about spinal surgery.
“He helped us with OPTIN (Overseas Partnering Training Initiative) currently run by Professor Anne Chamberlain, he was extremely active with LURE (Leeds Undergraduate Research Enterprise) run by Prof Shervanthi Homer-Vanniasinkam, where he donated a significant amount of money to have medical students mentored by consultant clinicians.

Mr Jake Timothy, consultant neuro-surgeon and spinal surgeon atLeed General Infirmary’s Department of Neurosurgery said: “Professor Homer-Vanniasinkam, who is a consultant vascular surgeon for the Trust, originally hails from Sri Lanka. “She was contacted directly by doctors who are working in some extremely difficult circumstances. “Once the team returns we will have a much better idea of what the main health priorities will be and then direct any further funds appropriately.” OPTIN focuses on providing small projects in developing countries which result in sustained benefits. Contribute Mr Timothy added: “We know there will be a lot of future work necessary, not just in the tsunami-affected areas, but other areas around the world. “All our health staff in the Trust can contribute to sharing and teaching skills, and in return, we develop other skills that help us to be better professionals for our patients in Yorkshire.” The team is due to fly out early next month.

Sir Jimmy spent time at Crayke Castle, near York – which he was later reported to be interested in buying – after the Second World War as part the Lend A Hand On The Land scheme and retained his fondness for the area over the years.
Sir Jimmy’s close friend Saleem Akhtar, who owns the Jinnah restaurant group, welcomed Sir Jimmy to the opening of his restaurant in Cumberland Street, York, earlier this year and said: “I had known him for about 12 years because he lived opposite my restaurant in Roundhay, in Leeds, and I was gobsmacked when such a big name walked in.
“From there, we became good friends. He loved his chicken tikka and he would stay and chat for hours, and from then on, whenever we opened a restaurant, he would come along and entertain people. He rang me to say he was going into hospital, and when I went to see him he said he was fighting fit and would soon be back to normal. I spoke to him a week before his death and he was still saying he wanted to open our new restaurant in Wakefield. I was planning to see him this week, so I am absolutely shocked by his death.
“He was a fantastic person – a true Yorkshireman and a true gentleman. He would never take any money for opening our restaurants and would tell us to give whatever we would have paid him to somebody who needed it. I cannot believe he has gone, and myself and my family will remember him for the rest of our lives.”
The £4 million unit the Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital includes two CT scanners devoted to research and the use of radiotherapy and is one of the largest cancer centres in Europe. At the opening of the unit a year ago, Sir Jimmy presented a personal donation of £50,000 to Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He said: “I hope it makes a lot of people a lot happier and a lot safer.”

James Ian Morrison was born on July 17 1930. His father, the 1st Lord Margadale, was, as John Morrison, the Conservative MP for Salisbury from 1942 to 1964. John Morrison was one of the most influential backbench Tory MPs of his time, as well as one of the most prescient: in 1972 (three years before Mrs Thatcher took over from Edward Heath) he predicted to one of his sons: “Mark my words, Margaret Thatcher will be the next leader of the party.”
John Morrison remained in the House of Commons until 1964, when he was created the 1st Lord Margadale –
it was the last hereditary peerage to be created, until Mrs Thatcher revived the practice in 1983 with viscountcies for George Thomas, the former Speaker, and William Whitelaw (alleged satanist).

Ms Leathley of Priests House Restaurant told Channel 4 News: “I spoke with him (Savile) a week before he died and we talked about a lot that day. I knew there was something different.”
Yet even the story of his last appearance at the restaurant, a popular wedding venue set in dramatic Dales landscape, is a humorous one.
“He came to a gay wedding and got chatting… I worried that he might say the wrong thing and told him to go.
“But the two women wanted him to stay, and he ended up having a whisky with them.”
Sandra Kirkham told Channel 4 News.

Sir Jimmy Savile is hoping to take part in a half marathon, just weeks after undergoing heart surgery. The 71-year-old said he felt “terrific” yesterday, after taking part in a charity walk.
Patients and staff from 60 hospitals joined in the first Sir Jimmy Savile Big Mile Walk, in support of the Royal College of Radiologists’s X-appeal at 42 locations across the country.
Sir Jimmy, who underwent a quadruple heart by-pass operation less than three weeks ago, spoke after leading home a group of about 60 walkers in Roundhay Park, Leeds.
Sir Jimmy paid tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales.
“I have known her for 15 years, she was a close friend. “It’s a dreadful thing to happen.” he said.
A few thoughts on this…
If he was involved in “fixing” Diana’s death, it makes total sense for him to be seen in public, miles away from the scene.
He’d organised for 42 groups of people in different locations across the country, to walk at exactly the same time – on the day one of the most-loved women in the world died. It smacks of dancing on her grave, if he had prior knowledge of the date her death was planned for.
Did he really have a quadruple heart bypass less than three weeks earlier?… Or was he out of the public eye because he was tending to “business”? I don’t believe anything he ever said. He had a penchant for baring his chest, either completely naked or through string vests, for years after 1997. Has anyone ever noticed any scarring?
Finally, his tribute to Diana. It’s odd. It’s more than tad blase: “A dreadful thing to happen”??? That is understatement.

They want to ensure photographs are not taken within clinical areas.
The action was agreed after Oswestry Orthopaedic, which Savile visited in 1999 to launch the start of work on its spinal injuries unit, was among all hospitals in England contacted by NHS chief executive Sir David Nicholson.
The senior cardiologist, who carried out Sir Jimmy’s quadruple heart bypass operation a decade ago, said the broadcaster and sportsman was an amazing person who fully deserved to be honoured publically
Professor Alistair Hall, senior consultant cardiologist at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospital, said: “I am 100 per cent in agreement that the wonderful Sir Jimmy should be made Freeman of the City.
“The thing about me is I get things done and I work deep cover,” Sir Jimmy, 81, tells Esquire. “I’ve known the Royal Family for a million years.”

Intelligence and the Making of Foreign Policy
It is both an honour and a privilege for me to have been invited to deliver the first Portland Trust annual lecture; for this I am indeed grateful to Sir Ronald Cohen, Sir Harry Solomon and to Ellis Goodman.
Sir Harry, founder of Hillsdown Holdings plc, has also been involved in Monitor Quest since 1999 and provides direction and strategic advice to the Board. He qualified and practised as a solicitor, and is currently a director of several companies both within the UK and abroad providing commercial expertise at the highest level.
(London, 15th March 2005) Quest is delighted to announce the appointment of the former Mossad Director, Efraim Halevy, as a Special Advisor to the Board. Quest is one of the UK’s leading security and intelligence consultancies.(chaired by Lord Stevens, former Commissioner London Metropolitan Police)
Mr Halevy has 40 years of experience in the Mossad, Israel’s secret intelligence service, including four years as its chief from 1998-2002. He recently stepped down as the Director of Israel’s National Security Council and as National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister. His diplomatic career included postings to both Washington and Paris as Political Counsellor at the Israeli Embassy. He was appointed Ambassador of Israel to the European Union in 1995.
Efraim Halevi also happens to be a member of the Clove Club, founded in 1848 with the motto, “God Grant Grace”:
The Clove Club is the organisation for anyone who attended Hackney Downs School (formerly The Grocers’ Company’s School), Downs Park Road, London, E.5.
Efraim Halevi is listed under “CLOVE MEMBERS AND CONTACTS as at 12.2.02.”

Michael Abraham Levy, Baron Levy (born 11 July 1944) is a British politician, a Labour member of the House of Lords and the major fundraiser for the UK Labour Party and several Jewish and Israeli charities. A long-standing friend of the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, Lord Levy is in the unique position of being an important pro-Israel lobbyist and Tony Blair’s special envoy to the Middle East since 2002. Levy was arrested and questioned in connection with the “Cash for Peerages” inquiry by the Metropolitan Police on 12 July 2006.[1] After six hours of questioning he was released on police bail. On 20 September 2006 he was questioned a second time, and again released on bail.[2] On 30 January 2007 Lord Levy was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice.[3]

Norwood is a UK charity established in 1785 in the East End of London.
In 1996, it merged with Ravenswood, a Berkshire-based charity for people with learning disabilities, to create one of the largest welfare organisations within the United Kingdom Jewish community.
Norwood currently provides more than 120 services for people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need, within the Jewish and wider communities in London and the South East.
These specialist services benefit more than 7,000 people each year and are delivered by 1,200 staff and supported by around 800 volunteers.
Norwood’s Patron is HM The Queen and its Patron of Children’s Services is Cherie Blair.

The charity’s celebrity supporters include Simon Cowell, Elton John, David Furnish, Sir Philip Green, Bernie Ecclestone, Roger Daltrey, Theo Paphitis, Tom Conti and Piers Morgan.
Solomon holds a portfolio of non-executive and advisory positions at charities and companies including Norwood.
Norwood’s Patron is HM The Queen.
Norwood connections, since Chris Strickland said the Scorpio satanic cult was based around Norwood/ Crystal Palace. Norwood is in the London Borough of Lambeth.
This may be worth investigating further, as Norwood has links not only to Scorpio, but to Savile, The Rothschilds, Stella Rimington, police corruption, Care Home Abuse and a famous charity who’s patron is the Queen.
The clipping I posted above mentioned that at least two prominent senior politicians were members of the Scorpio cult. Which brings to mind the Lambeth coverup alleged by DCI Clive Driscoll, who was fired after trying to expose politicians involved in abuse at Brixton’s Angell Road children’s home and South Vale youth assessment centre in West Norwood :-

Also wondering if Norwood has occult/ritual connections. Found this quote on aangrifan’s blog in an article about the former head of MI5, Stella Rimington :-
“Stella Rimington was born Stella Whitehouse in South Norwood, in London.
Reportedly, her parents were Christian; she is not a Christian. (Interview: Stella Rimington, novelist and former head of MI5 )
In 1860 Barnett and Isabella Meyers presented the Jews’ Hospital with eight acres of land in West Norwood, and a building to accommodate 220 children was erected. Sir Anthony Rothschild laid the foundation stone in 1861.”

And according to Wikipedia, “The charity that operated the orphanage (the Jew’s Hospital) in West Norwood retains an echo of its previous location in its current name Norwood.”

Dr Roger Bodley MA, BM BCh, FRACGP, FRCR, FRANZCR
Dr Bodley qualified from Oxford in 1973 and shortly after came to Burnie as an RMO where he worked with Donough O’Brien, John Kille, Don McTaggart and Graham Standen amongst others.
He and his wife (Dr Palmer), joined the Wynyard GP practice as trainees and then associates.
It was a discussion with radiologist Paul Huang about a patient led to a curiosity about interventional radiology and his subsequent return to Radiology training in Oxford in 1981. For 25 years until 2009, he was the senior radiologist at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, an acute hospital for 500,000 population as well as the home of The National Spinal Injuries Centre.
His special interests include spinal and interventional radiology.

A new independent report found Jimmy Savile abused 63 people connected to Stoke Mandeville Hospital, but one formal complaint was ignored.
It found Savile’s reputation as a “sex pest” was an “open secret” among some staff – but allegations probably did not reach managers. The formal complaint – made in 1977 by a victim’s father – should have been reported to police, it added.
Sylvia Nicol worked for 40 years at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital Trust, she was a trustee and worked for many years as a medical secretary in the spinal unit.
Mrs Nicol said knew Jimmy Savile from the early 1970s, liked him and ‘can’t change her mind’ about him:
“I’m not denying anything took place, it’s not my business to know, I can only know, what I know, can’t I. I can only know that I saw a man that put hours and hours and hours of work into rebuilding a spinal centre, into helping spinal people and other people throughout this country, and I can’t change my mind on that.”
“I can only say that I saw him do good. I can’t be a judge or jury on anything else, can I, and I don’t want to be,” Mrs Nicol added.
SN: Well I can only say that I saw him do good. I can’t be a judge or jury on anything else, can I? And I don’t want to be, because I had 40 years working there, a wonderful place to work. None of the sadness that seems to have been going on there was I aware of. I’m just so sad.
BBC: And have you talked to other people who worked at the hospital in those days.
SN: Hundred, dozens.
BBC: Who agree with you?
SN: They never saw anything. And it doesn’t mean to say they’re saying it didn’t happen. Neither am I, but if you don’t see it, if it’s not reported to you… I was in a position in there for two and a half years where anything like that would have been reported to me, but that doesn’t mean to say nothing happened.
BBC: And in all those times that you look back on with such affection and in that relationship that you enjoyed and that lots of other people in the hospital enjoyed with him, never, ever did anyone mention anything amiss?
SN: Absolutely not. Absolutely, categorically, they did not.
Sylvia Nicol a former trustee of the Jimmy Savile Stoke Mandeville Hospital Trust said Savile “was welcomed with open arms where ever he went … I never heard any rumours”.
Sylvia Nicol says she saw “no inappropriate behaviour ever” by Jimmy Savile, who she worked with raising funds for Stoke Mandeville Hospital
Ms Nicol knew the entertainer from the 1970s onwards, described her sadness at the stories of sexual abuse that have emerged.
“It takes away 40 years of very happy, very good memories”.
Sylvia Nicol: How can I come to terms when I never saw any sham. You can only know what you’ve seen. I never heard any rumours. I don’t know any one of the staff and patients that I know who heard or saw or it was reported to them that anything untoward happened to them.
Slater and Gordon, which represents 44 former staff and patients who say they were abused by Savile at Stoke Mandeville, said it “beggars belief” that senior staff failed to intervene.
Solicitor Liz Dux said: “The victims are hopeful the review will establish a much greater level of accountability than the previous one did.
Anything less will rightly be seen as a whitewash by those people still suffering from the awful crimes Savile committed all those years ago.”
Michael Barrymore used to work at the BBC with Larry Grayson.
Barrymore and Savile were reunited on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006.

Jimmy Savile hosted ‘Cop Idol’ talent show for police
Feb 16, 2014
POLICE invited Jimmy Savile to host a “Cop Idol” talent show for teenagers despite his name being linked to two child sex inquiries, an investigation has revealed.
The pervert was chauffeured by officers to the X Factor-style event at a church where the chief constable was on the judging panel.
The disgraced DJ was chosen to hand out prizes to the starstruck youngsters, even though his name had already come up in abuse investigations by Surrey and Sussex Police.
The VIP treatment was provided by police in North Yorkshire where the Leeds-based presenter had a second home in Scarborough.
The force had already assured Surrey and Sussex Police that Savile had a clean record as far as North Yorkshire was concerned. The contest took place at Selby Abbey in September 2008. Scotland Yard was told about the event in interviews with residents of Whitby, near Scarborough, while collecting evidence for their dossier on Savile, who died in 2011.
Surrey Police, who began an inquiry into Savile in 2007, have said requests to every force for information relating to him drew a blank. Sussex Police conducted a similar check in April 2008.

Sex offender’s hard drive in police commissioner’s safe for 14 years
A hard drive belonging to a sex offender couldn’t be used as evidence against him because it was kept in a police chief’s safe for 14 years.
The storage device containing indecent images of children which belonged to ex-Lord Mayor of Leeds Neil Taggart.
But the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s (PCC) office did not disclose its existence until after Taggart admitted child sex offences.
PCC Mark Burns-Williamson said he was unaware the images existed until then.
He apologised for the “embarrassing” mistake but added: “There’s been no intentional cover-up with this.”
An employee at the PCC’s office, who had previously been employed by the West Yorkshire Police Authority, remembered the storage device on 6 June 2017.
Taggart, who was a former police authority chairman, was jailed in July 2017 for making and distributing indecent photographs of children.
When officers had searched his home in September 2016 they discovered 36,003 indecent images and videos of children on his computer equipment.
A police whistleblower flagged up the hard drive’s existence to the BBC in September 2017.
The BBC has learned that when Taggart left the police authority in May 2003 his hard drive was “retained and stored”.
Mr Burns-Williamson, who became the authority’s chairman a month later, said: “I think it was within a secure safe within the police authority.
“That transferred over to the Police and Crime Commissioner’s office but, certainly, I was not aware that it existed.
“Subsequently some images have been found on there, much later on, of course, and I can only assume he [Taggart] knew full well that was the case, and that’s why he asked for it to be stored.
“Of course, I’m sorry and I absolutely regret the fact that this hard drive existed and wasn’t discovered until 2017.”
‘Seems suspicious’
The whistleblower said: “I can’t think of any reason why they would have kept the hard drive. It was expensive equipment.
“On a high-profile investigation for very serious offences of child sexual imagery, why have they not brought it forward?
“I don’t know if he [Mr Burns-Williamson] withheld evidence, but given that it took so long to disclose this evidence, it does seem suspicious.”
Mr Burns-Williamson said: “As soon as the member of staff recalled that something had been stored, West Yorkshire Police were immediately notified.
“I was notified on the same day, and I was as shocked as anyone that that was the case.
“It’s embarrassing, yes. There have been errors made, so, yes, I absolutely do apologise for that.”
The former Chief Crown Prosecutor for the North West of England and former Association of Police and Crime Commissioners chief executive, Nazir Afzal, said it was “staggering” the PCC did not know the hard drive was in a safe in his office.
“This particular individual [Taggart] was extraordinarily high profile. He was the head of the [police] authority.
“They had that material apparently in the office from 2003, going back 14 years, before the sentencing hearing. Why suddenly did they think it was relevant to bring it forward two days after he pleaded guilty?
“We’re talking about serious criminal material. The abuse of children, digital or video, is the abuse of children.
“It’s not an image. It’s a child being abused in real time.
“If that material is sat somewhere for the best part of 14 years questions need to be asked.”
Following a Freedom of Information request to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the BBC has learned the CPS was made aware of the existence of Taggart’s hard drive on 13 June 2017.
The CPS said it did not form part of the evidence in Taggart’s case because he had pleaded guilty a week earlier to the existing indictment and was awaiting sentence.
The hard drive was examined by the police and was found to contain six images – four unique images and two duplicates.
The CPS decided on 28 September 2018 not to charge Taggart with any offences relating to the four indecent images.
A spokesperson said: “These images were of a level of serious
The former chief executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, Jim Gamble, called for an independent review of the case.
“There needs to be a fundamentally independent review of… the circumstances surrounding the retention of this hard drive in the first instance, the issues around the delay in it being provided to the police, and ultimately the approach the police took in the investigation of the hard drive – what steps they took to identify, locate and safeguard who may have been in them, or young adults who are now suffering.”
West Yorkshire Police said the four images had been investigated by its Victim Identification Officer but there was insufficient information to identify the children.
Taggart died in December 2019.
Mr Burns-Williamson said he would stand for re-election as West Yorkshire PCC when polling takes place in May.
The role of West Yorkshire PCC could be phased out in the next few years.
In Wednesday’s Budget, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a devolution deal for West Yorkshire, part of which could see policing powers transferred to a West Yorkshire mayor from 2024.
How the BBC researched the story
Between October 2017 and January 2018, the BBC submitted three Freedom of Information (FoI) requests to the PCC requesting information about the hard drive.
Those requests were refused on the grounds that a West Yorkshire Police investigation into the matter was ongoing.
The BBC challenged that decision but it was upheld by the Information Commissioner and then the First-Tier Tribunal, the body that hears appeals regarding FoI legislation.
The tribunal judge said: “In our view this strong public interest in protecting law enforcement outweighs any other interests in disclosure.”
Mr Burns-Williamson said he had followed “due process”.
“There was an ongoing investigation, and reporting restrictions imposed by the judge,” he said.
“The CPS had further time to look at that and all the decisions that I’ve made in relation to that have been upheld by the Information Commissioner’s office and the First-tier Tribunal. So at the earliest opportunity, once those processes are out the way I’ve clearly given a fuller explanation.”
The CPS closed the case on 28 September 2018, at which point the PCC could have disclosed the relevant information.
In October 2019, the BBC submitted a fourth FoI request and the PCC provided detailed information to the BBC in December.

Former chairman of the West Yorkshire Police Authority had a ‘library of child abuse images’
Neil Taggart – who is also former Lord Mayor of Leeds – has been sent to prison for 32 months
4 July 2017
Neil Taggart, 65, a city councillor for more than 30 years and also former Lord Mayor of Leeds was also chairman of the West Yorkshire Police Authority between 1998 and 2003.
Leeds Crown Court heard officers executed a search warrant at his home in Garforth, Leeds on September 23 last year while he and his family were abroad on holiday.
They seized a desktop computer, five hard drives and two USB memory sticks on which more than 35,000 indecent images had been downloaded.
Files recovered also showed he had shared some of the images with other perverts and chatted online and in phone calls with some of them.
aggart admitted three charges of making indecent images of children, three of distributing indecent images, one charge of possessing prohibited images and one of possessing extreme pornography.
Anthony Dunne, prosecuting, said 5,488 images including 856 movies were found at Category A, the most serious involving adults and children as young as four and one involving a baby aged eight to 12 months.
There were also 4,580 still and moving images at category B and 25,935 at Category C. Also found were 30 images involving adults and animals classified as extreme pornography and 431 indecent computer images, some dating back to 2010. Deleted data suggested it might have gone back to 2007.
Jailing Taggart, Judge Robin Mairs said his offending had gone on for a prolonged period.
He said: “Behind those arithmetical totals the reality was this, they were children, pre-pubescent children, one was a baby eight to 12 months,…Girls described as aged four to six years of age.”
He said some of the children were shown in pain, in distress, restrained or gagged.

He served as a councillor for 34 years and was also chair of the West Yorkshire Police Authority. At yesterday’s full council meeting, Coun Carter asked council leader Judith Blake for reassurances about an internal audit inquiry, and suggested the fact that its findings were being reviewed by an Independent Safeguarding Board was “insufficient”. “We are all horrified by the Neil Taggart saga, but what seems to have been overlooked is that for a number of years this person was the chair of the West Yorkshire Police Authority,” he said. “I don’t know whether his illegal activities went back as far as this, but there needs to be a proper investigation that is independent, and can give reassurances, and closure if possible. “The Local Authority cannot reputationally allow there to be any suggestion of a cover-up. “I want the leader of Council to provide assurances that a thorough external investigation will leave no stone unturned.” Responding to Coun Carter’s question, Coun Blake said revelations about Taggart had caused “shock and revulsion” to all his former colleagues. “We felt we had to take this exceptionally seriously and for that reason the chief executive immediately ordered an internal audit,” she said. “We thought very carefully about how to take this forward, and what we have decided is we want the internal audit to be as far reaching as it can be, and I understand it’s very close to completion. “We believe the appropriate next step is to send the findings to the Independent Safeguarding chair and ask for his advice.” Coun Carter stressed there were “additional concerns that an internal audit inquiry is unlikely to find anything” because of the sheer length of time involved. “We should be looking further,” he said, Coun Blake said that as far as was currently understood, none of the charges against Taggart had related to his time in office. She acknowledged there was a need to be “as open and transparent about this as we possibly can be and do what we can do in regards to his time as councillor here.”

How far did police go to protect Jimmy Savile?
Evidence is mounting that the DJ wielded worrying influence over West Yorkshire Police
The Flying Pizza and his nearby penthouse apartment overlooking Roundhay Park were, until his death two years ago, the centre of Savile’s Leeds empire. He would swan in at least once every few weeks, boasting to regulars of his celebrity status. It was like he had the “keys to the city”, one recalls. What seemed at the time like mere celebrity bragging is now known to be much, much worse.
…the extent to which the police appeared to have enabled Savile to claim he was untouchable. A retired Leeds policeman has claimed that “there wasn’t a copper in the city who didn’t know Savile was a pervert”.
The ex-Leeds City Police officer, speaking under the alias Paul Leonard, said that in 1965 he had come across Savile’s Rolls-Royce parked in a secluded lay-by near Roundhay Golf Club. The then DJ and fledgling television presenter reportedly warned: “I’m waiting for midnight when she turns 16… so p–s off if you want to keep your job.” After reporting the incident to a sergeant, Leonard says he was told: “Shut up, son. He’s got friends in high places.”
The serial paedophile told detectives he had not done anything wrong in 83 years and boasted of “senior police persons” who came to visit him every week at his flat in Leeds in what was known as the “Friday morning club”.
At least eight West Yorkshire Police officers are thought to have attended Savile’s Friday morning clubs, which ran for almost 20 years. Inspector Starkey and Matthew Appleyard, a sergeant serving in Wetherby police station, were previously named as members by Savile’s biographer. Neither could be reached for comment yesterday. West Yorkshire Police will not release the names or ranks of the other officers who are known to have attended.
Francis’s friend Steve, who was also a doorman, recalls: “He would say it specifically to us because he knew what we did for our jobs. Basically, he had the keys to the city.”
It is known that Savile made a number of financial contributions to charities linked to West Yorkshire Police.
At one point the force invited him to be the voice of a new anti-burglary campaign.
Savile’s behaviour were mishandled a number of times, including in 1998 when West Yorkshire police failed to properly record an anonymous letter that made sexual abuse allegations about the late Top of the Pops host.
The letter was forwarded by a Metropolitan police officer from its clubs and vice unit, who told Operation Newgreen that it was “common knowledge within the team in the late 1980s and early 1990s that Savile was a paedophile”.
On one occasion in 1983, Savile attended a monthly official lunch at Millgarth with six senior officers and guests who included judges, barristers and business leaders. He tried to dominate the conversation and “hold court”
The incident is mentioned in an internal report compiled by West Yorkshire Police into Savile’s relationship with the force, which is currently being assessed by the IPCC.
“This would have been approximately 1983. These lunches
were held monthly at Millgarth police station in Leeds, with a cooked lunch being served to a group consisting of six senior officers and six invited high profile local people.
He stated that his guests included the Bishop of Leeds, the regional head of British Telecom, Judges, barristers, local heads of business, and on one occasion Jimmy Savile. The retired officer stated that Savile `held court` and dominated conversations.”
4.4 In the past, members of the WYP Officers Mess6 would arrange dinner events that were funded by current and retired officers and often invite an external guest speaker to provide a personal view on issues linked to policing.
In March 1998, Savile was invited to attend one of the evenings and he gave a speech on his business interests in Northern Ireland and his upbringing in Leeds. He also spoke about how he felt policing had changed since his youth.
He did not receive any payment for attending the evening but he was provided with transport home by one of the Assistant Chief Constables (now retired).
4.5 Savile made financial contributions to a number of charitable causes linked to WYP, an example being the fund started after the tragic murder of PC Ian Broadhurst in 2003 to which he donated approximately £10007.
4.6 Due to the location of Savile’s home in Roundhay Park and the elevated view from the balcony across the grounds, Savile offered WYP the opportunity to use it when policing major events in the park. An example of this was the Robbie Williams concert in 2006 which was attended by approximately 90,000 people. This offer was not taken up by the police on this or any other occasion.
4.7 In 2008 Savile attended an ‘open day’ at the Force’s Operational Support Service Department (OSSD)8. This event was organised for the families of police officers and staff to gain an understanding of the work undertaken by OSSD. Savile did not attend in any official capacity but was invited as a friend of a serving police officer and did not fulfil any official role.
7.42 During the course of their review, officers from Operation Newgreen visited a storage facility which holds some of Savile`s personal possessions.
Savile offering his services as an intermediary for the police, should the ‘Ripper’ wish to make contact.”
“The information held was his name, date of birth, home address and various reference numbers. It was not possible to establish the relevance of the reference numbers as a large proportion of the investigation paperwork had been destroyed in the 1980s.”
Jimmy Savile was asked to front West Yorkshire Police (WYP) crime prevention campaigns despite an awareness of sex abuse allegations and rumours among officers he was a “pervert”.
An internal report into West Yorkshire Police’s relationship with the former Jim’ll Fix It presenter showed that police were still asking him to promote campaigns in 2008 despite receiving warnings from Surrey Police that he could be a sex offender.
West Yorskhire still asked Savile to help front local crime prevention campaigns, including a ‘Hand in a Handler’ campaign and a Talking Signs campaign. A recording of Savile’s voice was broadcast through speakers attached to lamp posts which gave local students and residents crime prevention advice.
A retired officer from the Leeds Vice Squad also believed that the unit had conducted an investigation into allegations of indecent assault by Savile on two girls in the early 1980s. There is no evidence from WYP that this investigation took place, but the matter has been passed on to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

A police report into its relationship with Jimmy Savile has been branded a whitewash and condemned
The West Yorkshire Police (WYP) report examined the history of the DJ and TV presenter’s relationship with the force, including how officers attended his well-known Friday Morning Club at his Leeds flat.
It disclosed that the disgraced BBC star’s services was used in the force’s crime prevention campaign in 2007 despite allegations despite warnings from Surrey Police that he may be a sex offender.
However the inquiry, dubbed Operation Newgreen, concluded that there was no evidence he was shielded from arrest and protected from prosecution by his relationship with the force.

You can’t afford to f* about! Bring in an expert!* Am I right? A friend of mine reckons Jimmy Savile is a paedophile. Rubbish — he’s a child-bender! That’s why he does all the f**** charity work: it’s to gain public sympathy for when his f***** case comes up.’

If Sadowitz, a fringe comic with no connections to TV or radio at the time, had heard enough to joke about Savile in 1987, it is fair to presume his more famous contemporaries knew, too. This would include people who have done some serious moralising in the media of late.

MOORS murderer Myra Hindley has been accused of being a practicing witch who worshipped the occult alongside Ian Brady while the duo carried out their evil crimes.
Erica Gregory – who has devoted years of her life investigating the Moors murders – believes they even formed a twisted “paedophile ring”.
she said: “I believe they went to the BBC studio regularly to make a fuss and try to get in with Savile.
“Alongside David Smith, Brady was selling photographs of children to make money at this time – I believe Savile could have been one of his customers.

“Marietta Higgs at centre of new sex abuse scandal”
Cleveland Area
Cleveland: Unspeakable TruthsThe headline summed it up: “Is this the film that should never have been made ?”. Just as telling was that the article under it – in the TV Times – was the only national press coverage of the film. Ten years after the Cleveland Child Abuse Crisis not a single newspaper reported on a documentary which told – for the first time – the truth about what had happened to the children at the heart of a “scandal” which had gripped and divided the entire country. Not for nothing was the film called “Cleveland: Unspeakable Truths”. For those too young to recall it – and for those who still do – it’s worth recalling the events as they unfolded. In the spring of 1987, 121 children from the (then) county of Cleveland – an area of some 583 square km and including the economically depressed towns of Hartlepool, Redcar and Middlesbrough – were taken into temporary local authority care on suspicion of having been sexually abused. Many – in fact the majority – of the children were very young: most were pre-pubescent and in some cases so young (or developmentally delayed) as to be pre-verbal. This was not just the biggest sexual abuse case Britain had then encountered but the very first involving multiple victims and multiple perpetrators. Others – Rochdale, Orkney, Broxtowe – would follow on in quick succession, but Cleveland was the first and it set the template. Newspaper coverage that spring led readers to believe that the children had been “snatched” from their parents as the result of a new and untested physical diagnosis – Reflex Anal Dilatation. The press – led by the Daily Mail – reported that two paediatricians, Dr Marietta Higgs and Dr Geoffrey Wyatt, who had recently arrived at Middlesbrough General Hospital had begun using RAD to diagnose sexual abuse on children who had been brought to the hospital for petty and unrelated problems – “a child with a sore finger” became the familiar trope of these stories. Worse, or so the papers claimed, RAD involved looking up inside children’s bottoms and was a new and “experimental” technique. Cleveland’s senior police surgeon – a local GP called Alistair Irvine, made a series of statements to the media in which he damned both RAD and Drs Higgs and Wyatt. He was backed by local MP Stuart Bell who gave a succession of highly inflammatory interviews to local television stations. The media response was swift and overwhelming. Reporters from national newspapers, radio and television descended on Middlesbrough. The Daily Mail alone sent seven. And what were these journalists looking for ? One thing and one thing only – “innocent parents” wrongly parted from their children. And these parents – aided by Stuart Bell who had become their self-appointed champion – quickly told (and frequently sold) their stories. In a matter of weeks Cleveland went from being a small local story to a national “scandal”. All the papers and broadcasters repeated the parents claims and Stuart Bell’s allegations, and viciously attacked the paediatricians. They, along with Cleveland Council’s most senior child abuse advisor Sue Richardson, were ordered by their employers not to give any interviews or make any comment to the media. The Tory government set up a judicial enquiry under Lord Justice (Elizabeth) Butler Sloss. The enquiry sat for a year, heard evidence from parents, social services, police, doctors, nurses and – without any apparent unease – from a champion of paedophile rights, Ralph Underwager. It cost £5 million. But there was one very odd aspect to the enquiry. Its remit from Whitehall prohibited it from asking – let alone answering – the most important question of all: how many of the 121 children at the centre of the crisis had been abused ? By the time the enquiry report was close to publication I had made a high-profile documentary (and written a book) about child pornography. I approached Marietta Higgs to ask if she would, on the day of publication, be interviewed by me for ITN News. After a week of negotiation it was agreed that she would do one television interview (with me), one radio interview for Woman’s Hour and speak to one newspaper (The Guardian). I was freelance and arranged to do the interview at the studios of Tyne Tees, ITV’s franchise in the north-east. It would be quicker to feed the piece down to ITN from Newcastle than to film it and bike the tape down to London. I read the Butler Sloss report from cover to cover. I was – given the prevailing public story – surprised to see that it did not suggest anywhere that Drs Higgs and Wyatt had wrongly diagnosed the 121 children, nor that RAD had been the sole medical evidence in most cases. The report also made clear that no child was recorded as a suspected victim of sexual abuse on medical evidence alone: Butler-Sloss had heard a wealth of testimony from social services indicating that in the vast majority of cases, there were serious concerns about the children’s welfare long before they were seen at Middlesbrough General Hospital. The report did criticise the doctors for the problems their diagnoses caused at the hospital which had been overwhelmed. It placed restrictions on them working on child abuse cases. But it reserved its most serious and stinging criticism for Stuart Bell MP, who it found had made false ad inflammatory statements about the parents, the children and the doctors – and refused to correct them even when presented with the evidence. It also strongly criticised Alastair Irvine, the police surgeon who had been instrumental in sparking the crisis. The headlines that afternoon (and the next morning) were extraordinary: they bore no resemblance to the findings of the report. “Sack Her” [Marietta Higgs] was one of the more moderate. I interviewed Dr Higgs – calmly and politely for half an hour. I put to her all the criticism in the report and the complaints made by the parents. She answered honestly and frankly. While the tape was being fed to London, I was approached by Tyne Tees news journalists and by the news anchor. The former screamed at me that I had “let Higgs off the hook”; the anchor threatened to beat me up. ITN ran the interview that evening. Eight years later I was working at Yorkshire Television’s documentaries department – the best place in the world to make serious and important films. I had produced one such film two years earlier about a major child sexual abuse network in the United States [Conspiracy of Silence – there are references on this site to this] which had been pulled by its funder, The Discovery Channel. Perhaps that should have warned me. I happened to meet Sue Richardson at a child abuse conference during the summer of 1996. In passing she mentioned that she was very concerned about what had happened to the Cleveland children. For the next six months I quietly spoke to as many people involved in the crisis as I could. A picture quickly emerged: many – probably most – of the 121 children had been returned to their parents, even where there was clear evidence of sexual abuse. In an alarming number of cases there was a convicted sex offender living in the house – one of the trigger factors for Sue Richardson’s initial concerns. The court system had broken down under the weight of hostile news reporting: one judge refused to allow evidence “relating to children’s bottoms” in his court room. Children had been sent back to parents about whom there was a lengthy history of concern. And then there was RAD itself. It turned out that this was not some new and experimental technique, as alleged by the police surgeon and Stuart Bell, but was more than 100 years old and was formally included in the Association of Police Surgeons’ own manual as a diagnostic tool raising suspicions of sexual abuse and requiring further enquiries if it was observed. Late in 1997, with the wholehearted agreement of Yorkshire Television’s Head of Documentaries, I pitched the idea for a documentary about Cleveland to Channel 4. It agreed to commission the film and we went into production: Channel 4 was to pay to Yorkshire TV the sum of £150,00 to produce it and a first instalment was transferred to the company’s coffers. We also advertised for parents who had been caught up in the crisis. Only two came forward: a mother whose children had been sexually abused by their father (he was convicted of the abuse) and ho had tried – in vain – to get her story heard by reporters back in 1987, and a couple whose children had been among the first to be taken into care. We were also contacted by a young woman from the area who had been sexually abused by her father at the time but who was not part of the 121 taken into care. At some point a large brown parcel arrived for us at Yorkshire TV’s studios. Anonymously-sent, it contained all the social service evidence relating to the 121 children which had been presented in camera to Butler-Sloss. This posed a dilemma: although the children’s identities had been hidden by code letters in these documents, simply by receiving them – let alone broadcasting their contents -we were committing a serious offence. Yet the evidence in the documents clearly answered the question Butler-Sloss had been forced to duck: had these children been abused ? The papers showed that the children had long histories of involvement with social services and painstakingly documented injuries. In many cases a convicted paedophile was living in their houses, and many had made very convincing disclosures of sexual activity with adults. In the end, and with Yorkshire TV’s backing, we decided they were too important to throw away. Happily, Chanel 4 was then a far more serious broadcaster than it is now. Within days it had brokered a deal whereby my own production company would make the film; I would take leave of absence from Yorkshire TV to do so, and – under pain of having its lucrative daytime Countdown quiz-programme terminated by Channel 4 – Yorkshire TV would then take me back on a longer contract. The row even made the front page of the industry’s trade magazine. But our troubles were nothing compared to those of Drs Higgs and Wyatt or Sue Richardson. The health authorities for whom the paediatricians worked refused them permission to be interviewed, and Sue Richardson was informed by her then employer – a child welfare charity – that if she appeared in it she would be dismissed. She resigned instead – and her interview was vital in conveying the truth about Cleveland. Two telling sections of the film summed up the entire crisis. The first was a section which showed file footage of one of the Cleveland parents making an emotional appeal on a breakfast television programme: in it – and egged on by host Anne Diamond – he said he had never abused his children and demanded they be allowed home. Yet the truth was that he had been convicted of buggering his children – sometimes in front of his wife: apparently that truth was ignored by Ms Diamond and her team. The second was the discovery that in the wake of the Butler-Sloss enquiry, the Department of Health ordered all records of all the children as a group to be destroyed. When we asked for an explanation, the Department refused to comment. by Tim Tate – Producer/Director of Cleveland: Unspeakable Truths

And her husband, a judge in KENYA
News of the World 17 July 1988
“The News of the World carried an article about Butler-Sloss’s husband.
Under the front-page headlines “Cleveland Judge Sex Scandal” and “Dame’s randy spouse frolics with vice girls” was an article reporting that he was a judge in Kenya and was ‘associating’ with prostitutes.”
http://www.c-g.org.uk/issues/shame/debs/content.htm
Asked who instigated the Cleveland inquiry in 2003 Lady Butler-Sloss replied: “I think it was my brother actually as Lord Chancellor.”
A recently discovered article from Capital Gay magazine reveals how libel threats were used to silence newspapers who reported on the Elm Guest House paedophile ring. The Attorney General, Sir Michael Havers, would personally investigate complaints from lawyers representing Elm Guest House.
Sir Michael Havers played a leading role in the Sir Peter Hayman cover-up, and told Geoffrey Dickens not to name the paedophile diplomat in Parliament. Havers argued that Hayman should have retained his anonymity, and didn’t think the British public needed to know that powerful Establishment figures abused children.
Scotland Yard denied the allegations made by the Daily Express that the guest house’s visitor list included three MPs and a member of Buckingham Palace staff. A spokesman for Elm Guest House told Capital Gay “these were professional business people. We are talking about barristers, doctors, a couple of priests and a vicar”.
We now know that these “professional people” were almost certainly all child abusers. One of the barristers who visited Elm Guest House was Colin Peters QC, who was later jailed for his part in “Britain’s biggest child sex ring” which had over 150 victims. One of the priests who visited the guest house was Father Tony McSweeney, who was arrested by Operation Fernbridge in January.
It’s clear that Scotland Yard, Sir Michael Havers, and the Elm Guest House lawyers were all following the same script. It’s easy to blame the press for their part in the cover-up, but they were up against the most senior police and law officers in the country.
The most striking thing about the article is the strenuous denial of any link to the murder/disappearance of Vishal Mehrotra and Martin Allen, both of whom disappeared not far from Rocks Lane bewtween 1979 and 1981. Vishal Mehrotra went missing on the night of the Royal Wedding in 1981, when the Elm Guest House paedophiles were having a ‘Kings and Queens party’.
Scotland Yard had earlier confirmed to the Express that they were investigating connections between the missing boys and Elm Guest House. “Scotland Yard is expected to reopen files on the murder of one boy and he disappearance of another in their investigation into a VIP homosexual vice network in London.” Full article
Just a couple of months later these connections were “absolute rubbish”…

YORKSHIRE RIPPER PETER SUTCLIFFE LINKED TO TWO UNSOLVED MURDERS IN SWEDEN IN THE 1980
The Yorkshire Ripper and the unsolved Swedish murders
The email gave details of the murder of Gertie Jensen on 12 August and of Teresa Thorling on 30 August 1980.
It went on to explain that the West Yorkshire Police had found a telex which had been sent to its office by the international crime organisation, Interpol, in the 1980s.
This indicated that Sutcliffe may have travelled with a lorry on board a car ferry between the port of Limhawn (which Lundqvist understood to be a mis-spelling of Limhamn) in Sweden and Dradoer (a mis-spelling of Dragor) in Denmark. The email then quoted two dates: 30 August 1980 and 1 September 1980 – coinciding with the date Teresa was killed.

Olof Palme Suspected Of Paedophilia
6 December, 2007
The scandal in essence is that there is reason to believe that two Swedish Prime ministers during the 1970s, the internationally known Olof Palme, and Thorbjörn Fälldin, were customers at a network of prostitutes which involved underage girls. In other words, should the allegations be true, these men were paedophiles.
And not only them. The investigation – hushed down as it is – involves a long list of top politicians and celebrities of the time. Some 70 names have been mentioned.
The girls, around 14 at the time, have now grown up, and yesterday, they held a press conference where two of them are demanding compensation fron the Swedish state.
But it doesn’t end there. As I have mentioned, there has never been a proper investigation of these matters.
Swedish Prime minister Olof Palme with the BBC journalist David Frost
Olof Palme lied to the entire Swedish people when he denied that the then head of the Swedish police, Carl Persson, had written to him to inform him that his Minister of Justice, Lennart Geijer, was frequenting prostitutes and could therefore be subject to blackmail – especially since some of the prostitutes were from the Communist bloc. Mr Persson’s note was disclosed in the daily Dagens Nyheter in 1977, but Olof Palme could see from the way the article was written that the paper did not have access to the note itself. Olof Palme very aggressively denied that the note had ever existed and called the whole thing rumours and worse, but in 1991, the note was declassified and confirmed that Mr Geijer was in fact buying sex.
Why Olof Palme put his entire career at stake to lie so blatantly – about something he likely knew was true – remains an enigma; he was murdered in 1986 and took his secrets to his grave. But the fact is that the former prostitutes yesterday repeated that he would hve beneone of their customers. Did he lie in order to protect himself?
Worse still, his Minister of Justice – Mr Geijer – was trying at the time to decriminalise paedophilia (yes, it’s true). Thank God he was stopped, but that further adds to the sleaziness of it all.
Meanwhile, the girls – several of whom have identified top politicians as customers, independently of one another – descended into personal problems and drug abuse, frustrated about the massive cover-up form the establishment. They have never budged one inch from their story; they insist to this day that what they allege is true.
The whole thing has resurfaced from time to time in Sweden, but has just as regularly vanished from the headlines again and led to no repercusisons at all. Only one person has ever been tried and found guilty, Sigvard Hammar, a marginal figure who was a TV journalist as well as a paraplegic and thus less into the circles of power, who also openly admitted abusing underage girls. But he was sentenced for procuring, not for abusing minors.
There is much more to say about this disgusting, nauseating, stomach-turning, sinister, evil, deprave, vicious mess. How Dagens Nyheter’s source, criminologist Leif G W Persson who worked for Carl Persson at the time, found not only his desk but his entire room emptied the day after Dagens Nyheter broke the story. How the cover-up in 1977 was orchestrated by people involving the then Chief Constable of Stockholm, Hans Holmér, the same police officer who later made a complete mess of the murder investigation of Olof Palme – for whatever reason. How Thorbjörn Fälldin before the Swedish Parliament in 1977 stated that the entire list of suspects must have been false simply because his own name was on it – and how the Swedish nation chose to believe him.
And how an unknown number of young girls had their lives ruined by the men in power that were supposed to provide their ultimate security.
So, will there be a proper investigation this time? At present, it doesn’t seem likely. The story has already been moved to the back pages, and it seems that the whole thing will once again be ground down into the bureaucratic machinery.

Baroness Sloss was appointed to Cleveland abuse inquiry by brother Michael Havers
The retired judge leading the Westminster abuse probe has revealed she was appointed to run a previous sex abuse inquiry by her late brother, Lord Havers, when he was Lord Chancellor.
Baroness Butler-Sloss has been under scrutiny over her suitability to investigate claims of a child-sex ring at Westminster because of a potential conflict of interest over her Establishment connections.
Yesterday, it was claimed she had kept allegations about a bishop out of a report on a paedophile scandal because she “cared about the church”.
Now, she faces fresh criticism over her admission of the key role of Lord Havers in the Cleveland child sex abuse inquiry in 1987 which she led.
Asked who instigated the Cleveland inquiry in 2003 Lady Butler-Sloss replied: “I think it was my brother actually as Lord Chancellor.”
Tory child abuse whistleblower: ‘Margaret Thatcher knew all about underage sex ring among ministers’
Former activist Anthony Gilberthorpe says he sent Thatcher a 40-page dossier in 1989 accusing Cabinet members of abusing underage boys
Anthony Gilberthorpe says he sent her a 40-page dossier in 1989 accusing Cabinet members of abusing underage boys at drug-fuelled conference parties.
Mr Gilberthorpe, who claims he was ordered to recruit boys for the ministers, says he posted the “graphic” allegations to Mrs Thatcher after befriending her.
Mr Gilberthorpe, who was a young Tory hopeful when he was asked to recruit for the parties, said: “I outlined exactly what I had witnessed and informed her I intended to expose it.
“I had met Mrs Thatcher on several occasions and even presented her with a birthday cake in 1983. I believed she had to know.”
He said that being overlooked for the safe Tory seat of Gloucester in April 1986 made up his mind to shop the ministers. “I believe I was stitched up and it gave me an insight into the treacherous nature of the party,” he added.
“It was one of the reasons I decided reveal what I’d witnessed. I made it very clear to Mrs Thatcher most trusted ministers had been at these parties with boys who were between 15 and 16.
“I also told her of the amount of illegal drugs like cocaine that were consumed.
“I underlined the names of Keith Joseph, Rhodes Boyson and one MP still serving today. I also said I had seen Michael Havers at a party in Blackpool held at the hotel pool in 1983.”

Stuart Bell listed on Elm Guest House list
The name “Stuart Bell” appears on the Elm House documents, though it is not clear if it refers to the late MP for Middlesbrough.
He chose to resign his post after the Cleveland child abuse scandal which occupied two years of his life, after making unsubstantiated accusations of ‘clinical error’ against local paediatricians and child sexual abuse specialists.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_Bell
He then played a pivotal role in the passage of the Children Act which, he said, replaced “confusing, unfair” laws. Sir Stuart helped draft the new law and was instrumental in its passage.
he was appointed Second Church Estates Commissioner to handle relations between church and state.

Neil Kinnock brought Bell on to the front bench as a Northern Ireland spokesman.
By his mid-30s miner’s son Stuart Bell, , was a millionaire international lawyer and a Name at Lloyd’s with homes and offices in Paris and London, and had written his first novel. The book was a raunchy semi-autobiographical story of little literary merit…
Intent on becoming “a writer” he relocated to Paris, where he worked as a clerk in a law firm among whose clients was the European office of Walt Disney.
With such a prestigious client he quickly found others, including Hewlett Packard and General Motors, and started to specialise in the lucrative area of European trade and international tariffs. His success was speedy and he expanded to offices in the exclusive Avenue Montaigne, premises that had been the wartime headquarters of American Forces (complete with an “Oval Office”).
Although he had borrowed a house in the constituency from his Daily Mirror friend while contesting Hexham, and as a city councillor in Newcastle upon Tyne (1981-83), his jet-setting pursuit of politics soon started to eat into his fortune. First he had to sacrifice his magnificent country home (swimming pool, tennis court) in Chantilly, outside Paris, then his young mistress, and finally his senior partnership in a firm that employed more than a dozen lawyers, and along with it his apartment (Eiffel Tower view) in Avenue Montaigne. Until his election, when he became entitled to an MP’s salary of £15,308, he was reduced to seeking work as a barrister on the Northern Circuit.
Malcolm Bell, son of Middlesbrough MP Stuart Bell, stole blank cheques from the office of George Galloway MP while working for his father as a House of Commons researcher.

Wilf Proudfoot was Member of Parliament for Cleveland, his secretary, Christine Holman (the future Christine Hamilton)
Radio 270 was also attacked in Parliament. Mr Proudfoot had previously been a Conservative MP and, as someone with an interest in politics, offered late night airtime on his station to various politicians. Harvey Proctor, a student at the University of York and Chairman of the University Conservative Association, was invited to produce a number of half-hour political programmes for Radio 270.
Right-wing Tory MP Patrick Wall took part in one show during which he spoke in favour of recognising the illegal Smith regime in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). Government MPs were incensed but Mr Proudfoot defended his actions by saying that Labour representatives had been offered equal time, but had turned it down. The political broadcasts continued. Harvey Proctor later became an MP himself, representing Basildon from 1979 to 1983 and Billericay from 1983 to 1987, before a sex scandal ended his Parliamentary career.
Heath’s autobio covers the fact that he used Young Conservatives for ‘information gathering and propoganda’ assistance.

It was JS’ cousins (the Kelly family) who rented ‘The Cottage’ in Saltburn – and he was a frequent visitor apparently. It is actually a mini-mansion in spite of its modest name. The Cottage is nick-named ‘Teddy Nook’ because in the 1870s Lillie Langtry entertained the future Edward VII there.
Lillie Langtry
She was also known for her relationships with noblemen, including the Prince of Wales, the Earl of Shrewsbury, andPrince Louis of Battenberg.
Prince Louis Alexander of Battenberg, was a British naval officer and German prince related to members of the British Royal Family.
He married a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, and was the father of Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who also served as First Sea Lord from 1954 to 1959. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, consort of Queen Elizabeth II, is his grandson.
In April 1879, Langtry had a short affair with Prince Louis of Battenberg
Lillie Langtry allegedly bore him an illegitimate daughter, Jeanne Marie
In June 1880, she became pregnant. Her husband was not the father; she led Prince Louis to believe that he was.
Prince Louis’ son, Earl Mountbatten of Burma, had always maintained that his father was the father of Jeanne Marie.[23]
Langtry’s father was Rector and Dean of Jersey he nevertheless earned an unsavoury reputation as a ‘ladies man’ fathering illegitimate children by various of his parishioners
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lillie_Langtry
Langtry was a regular in high society- and counted Oscar Wilde and Arthur Conan Doyle as close friends
Langtry became an American citizen in 1897 and died in Monte Carlo in 1929 aged 75.
She is rumoured to have been the inspiration for the character of Irene Adler in Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes tale A Scandal In Bohemia.
AMONG the women who were to succeed Lillie as the antidote to Bertie’s boredom was the voluptuous Mrs Alice Keppel, daughter of a baronet, whose husband’s forbearance was rewarded by membership of the Royal Victorian Order.
Our own Prince of Wales, Bertie’s great-great grandson, is not a serial philanderer – for would not the tabloids tell us? – but it is a neat symmetry that Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles, cited by Princess Diana as the third person in her unhappy marriage, should be Alice Keppel’s great-granddaughter

Sir Jimmy Savile, who died in October aged 84, had a strong link to Saltburn, in particular to the large villa overlooking the pier known as Teddy’s Nook. He praised his friendship with the family who owned the house to his success in his career. It was owned in the 1930s by Bill Kelly, of Middlesbrough stockbrokers Stancliffe’s, and his wife was Jimmy’s aunt Meg. Jimmy, who then lived in a workaday part of Leeds, used to visit Teddy’s Nook and enjoyed holidays with his cousins, as the Kelly’s had a large family. Mike Morrissey, of Saltburn, discovered the link when Jimmy replied to a letter he wrote to him via St James’s Hospital, Leeds, where Jimmy worked as a volunteer. “Saltburn, Teddy’s Nook and the Kelly’s was my first taste of the grand life. Such space, inside and out, such views,” wrote the larger-than-life celebrity, charity fund-raiser, and marathon runner. “Auntie Meg was my mother’s sister. By a fluke she married someone called Kelly, the same as her maiden name. “Coming from a low-income family (in those days were were called `poor’) the Kelly household had a great effect on me. “One of my first pre-teen feelings was `If it’s possible for them, surely it must be possible for me.’ “And so it proved, but my bit of success would have been impossible had I not seen it at Saltburn first. All my cousins were quite super and all in all it was a magic experience in a magic place.” The PS to his letter was: “I often sneak into town disguised as Robert de Niro.” Mike wrote to Sir Jimmy because he was researching Teddy’s Nook for a talk he gave to Saltburn and District Retired Men’s Forum in about 1995. “I’ve always felt his memory of the Kelly family and its effect on his career was remarkable,” said Mike. “His letter was written on the other side of my note to him. He signed it with a smily face in the loop of the “J” in his signature. Great!”

Robert de Niro Linked to Child Sex Trafficking Ring According to Court Records
15 November 1998
The case uncovers the brutal methods used to snare young women – some as young as 15 – into a call-girl agency specialising in wealthy, high- profile clients. It also exposes attempts by the French government machine to block an investigation which might embarrass senior politicians and damage French interests abroad.
Six people are charged with the running of an international prostitution ring, whose call-girls entertained the actor Robert de Niro, the former tennis player, Wojtek Fibak, two senior (but unnamed) French politicians and several Gulf princes. The agency specialised in tricking, or trapping, star-struck teenage girls into selling their bodies with the promise of careers as models or actresses.
At one point, according to the report of the investigating judge, the agency became a kind of approved dealer in girls, operating with the connivance, if not the blessing, of the French foreign ministry and French secret services. By steering Middle East arms clients towards girls from a known, and closely watched, agency, there was thought to be a reduced risk of blackmail, or the leaking of secret negotiation
The files of clients’ names seized by the police are said to include many well-known members of the sports and show-business jet-set on both sides of the Atlantic. The only names to emerge so far are De Niro, Fibak and the French film producer, Alain Sarde.

In Cumbria, as in Cleveland, the police not only did nothing, they did it with determination – they ignored the abuse alarm raised by the forensic pathologist and resisted a mandatory Serious Case Review.
Cleveland – Savile was there. Who sent him? Ha! Your little chum told me fuckers! ‘False allegations’ my left foot! Lost the passwords, Liar
Dame Alun Roberts @ciabaudo
We know BigEars wrote to Bishop Ball and BishBall wrote to Enoch. But did BigEars write to Savile about Cleveland?
Hobbs and Wynn – csa experts
Northern Regional Health Authority barred Dr Higgs from child abuse work in their region. She has never apologised. “I reached my clinical diagnosis after very careful thought and I would do the same today,” is what she said then. Although this week she refused to comment further, Dr Higgs made it clear she has not changed her views.
The Anal Dilation Theory practised by as not her idea however, she just became the most infamous practioner.…the Daily Mail report about a girl called Jodie .
The girl was referred to the community paediatrics department at the city’s St James’s University Hospital on the following Thursday… The hospital has a busy child protection team, overseen by the paediatric consultant Dr Christopher Hobbs. Significantly, he is an original pioneer of the RAD technique in this country.
In June 1986, just a year before the Cleveland controversy broke, Dr Hobbs and his colleague Jane Wynne introduced young Marietta Higgs to this new way of diagnosing child molestation during a Leeds’ medical conference.
A paper written in Leeds by the two premier experts (Hobbs & Wyatt) contains no mention of Jimmy Savile
…the doctors evidently being privy to all the police information from the years 1985-1987, when a “Paedophile Ring” was declared to exist in South Leeds – a claim made by experts in the field and backed up by the police at the time.
(yet) there was no mention by anyone of Leeds native, (Jimmy Savile) known by sight to one and all – especially all those folks who worked in the hospitals he worked in, like Dr. Hobbs, and Dr Wynne.
Leon Brittan and the Leeds child abuse dossier
Leon Brittan and the Leeds child abuse dossier
In February 1985, the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed that ‘a horrifying dossier on child prostitution in Leeds – involving girls as young as nine – has been compiled by shocked social services chiefs‘.
‘As many as 60 under-age girls are known to have been involved in illegal sex activities…in the south Leeds area‘
‘Eight of the girls involved had been taken into the care of the local authority at some stage and six of them were still in care today‘
Councillor Bernard Atha, the chairman of the city’s social services committee, said he was ‘horrified by the magnitude of the problem’, which he believed was the largest case of its kind in the country.
The MP for Leeds South, Merlyn Rees, obviously agreed with Councillor Atha’s assessment of the scale of the problem, as four days later the Yorkshire Evening Post reported that he was to write to the Home Secretary, Leon Brittan.
Mr Rees said “It is very worrying and obviously something needs to be done. This could be just the tip of the iceberg and I want the Home Secretary to investigate“.
So, what did Leon Brittan do about it?
There were no statements read by him in Parliament, and unless a government initiative to crack down on child abuse was launched in secret, it seems Mr. Brittan did nothing.
A news report from June 1985 said that “three new cases of paid sex involving under-age children were being investigated” – so the problem obviously hadn’t been solved. 120 girls had been questioned, but there’s nothing in the report about the ringleaders who were sexually exploiting children being arrested.
Perhaps Bernard Atha, who is still a Leeds councillor, can shed some light on this?
Yorkshire Evening Post, 14th February 1985
So Leon Brittan lied about British Aerospace, didn’t remember the Dickens’ dossier and did not act on information regarding these poor girls in South Leeds.
Yorkshire Evening Post, 18th February 1985
Daily Express, 24th June 1985
This was clearly a national problem, as the following year Geoffrey Dickens exposed a ‘child brothel’ involving up to 40 children that was being run on a North London council estate. This was swiftly covered up and Dickens was told he must apologise to the residents that he had insulted. More
In November 1983, Geoffrey Dickens gave the Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, a dossier on the Paedophile Information Exchange, who wanted the age of consent reduced to 4 years old, and allegations of child sexual abuse by Buckingham Palace staff. In January 1984, Dickens gave Brittan a second dossier detailing sexual abuse at a children’s home, and naming prominent paedophiles including a television executive. More
It appears that Brittan failed to act on the contents of both dossiers. Nothing was done to help the children who were being abused, and nothing was done to bring the abusers to justice. Tom Watson MP tabled a written PMQ to the current Home Secretary, Theresa May, on 25th February 2013, asking for the whereabouts of the dossiers. Nearly 5 months have passed and there’s still no reply from Theresa May… More
This is what Labour Cllr Atha had to say about Savile, his friend over several decades, a week after his death: “A number of us (Councillors) will consider what we ought to do to commemorate a person who was an outstanding personality, a very nice, decent person who had an enormous impact on our cultural life, including the world of pop music. He was quite exceptional, yet he was a local Leeds lad and always insisted on that.” uPSD can trace no outcome of Cllr Atha’s enquiries into the paedophile ring and neither have West Yorkshire Police. It is also worth noting that Cllr Les Carter, also of Leeds and a 40 year colleague of Mr Atha, was Vice Chair, and then Chair, of a West Yorkshire Police Authority that was in total denial about police paedophilia within its ranks. Cllr Carter was also the Chair of the Safer Leeds Board that engaged Savile to promote the Talking Signs campaign referred to above.

The Yorkshire Post made one thing clear, when Dr. Wynne died a few years ago. She was an expert:
THE paediatrician Jane Wynne, who has died aged 64, was an internationally known authority on child abuse, working in Leeds with her contemporary Christopher Hobbs. The lives of both were for a time blighted by the notorious Cleveland child abuse scandal of 1987, but it was perceptions of guilt by association rather than any direct involvement of theirs which accounted for it.
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/community/obituaries/jane-wynne-1-2295677
Jane became a council member of the NSPCC and joined its Board of Trustees; she also worked in the British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. With others, she and Christopher Hobbs were instrumental in establishing the Child Protection Special Interest Group and the British Association for Community Child Health. The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health eventually accepted that dealing with child abuse was a matter for all paediatricians, who needed to be aware of correct management and practice. For her work with abused children, in 1994 Jane received an honorary doctorate from Leeds Metropolitan University and in 2003 she was made an honorary trustee
So Jimmy Savile would have known these doctors, Hobbs and Wynne who trained Dr Marietta Higgs – all involved in the Cleveland case via Leeds General Infirmary
Wynne, Leeds pioneer in the field of child abuse….
The Cleveland case centred on a paediatrician who diagnosed 121 cases of suspected child abuse on Teesside. Eventually 96 of them were dismissed by the courts. The affair resulted in a public inquiry conducted by Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss which found Jane and Christopher Hobbs blameless.
After marrying Dr Simon Currie in 1976, she moved back to Leeds as lecturer in the university’s department of paediatrics. There she ran clinics for handicapped children and joined Michael Buchanan, senior lecturer, in the field of child abuse in which he had been a pioneer.
In 1984, she was appointed a consultant community paediatrician attached to Leeds General Infirmary, but also attending St James’s Hospital.
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/obituaries/jane-wynne-1-2295677
Professor Alistair Hall, senior consultant cardiologist at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospital, said: “I am 100 per cent in agreement that the wonderful Sir Jimmy should be made Freeman of the City.
“Despite his fame he still volunteers at the hospital and the list of good work and fundraising he has done is too long to list. “He has supported a lot of cardiology research and helped with The Family Heart Study and toured on the big red bus across the UK. He has helped us to fundraise to buy a special scanner and only recently donated a large amount of money to fund scholarships for junior doctors.” The senior cardiologist, who carried out Sir Jimmy’s quadruple heart bypass operation a decade ago, said the broadcaster and sportsman was an amazing person who fully deserved to be honoured publicall

The Butler-Sloss inquiry into the Cleveland case heard evidence from an American ‘child abuse expert’ called Ralph Underwager. He spoke out on behalf of the ‘falsely accused’ parents and many of his recommendations made their way into the Butler-Sloss report. The Butler-Sloss report, as Frank Cook pointed out, went on to influence both Children’s Act and also the subsequent handling of countless child abuse inquiries.
A few years later, Ralph Underwager was exposed by an interview he gave to a European paedophile magazine called Paidika, in which he said child sexual abuse was “God’s Will”.
Here are some extracts from the interview, which can be found here:
Underwager: Paedophiles can boldly and courageously affirm what they choose. They can say that what they want is to find the best way to love….Paedophiles can make the assertion that the pursuit of intimacy and love is what they choose. With boldness they can say, “I believe this is in fact part of God’s will
The Cleveland Scandal – The Inquiry lasted 74 days, from mid-August 1987 until the end of January 1988
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C3001
…hundreds of children being identified as having been sexually abused by their parents and then taken into care, overwhelming the system and causing a breakdown of relationships between everyone involved and a subsequent political row, would provide an excellent smokescreen in the event of people asking difficult questions about the conduct of local authorities.
The scale of Cleveland suggests that someone somewhere was very worried about something indeed. Like perhaps a social worker personally telling a Prime Minister that she had witnessed child abuse in a region where it was later admitted that one of the aides of that Prime Minister who was known to be a paedophile – Sir Peter Morrison – was visiting children’s homes in that region?

a letter re: Suzy Lamplugh Trust
background on Suzy Lamplugh
July 1986, in broad daylight and in the middle of a working day, Suzy Lamplugh, a 25 year old, disappeared during the course of her work as an estate agent while showing a client round a house in Fulham.
https://www.suzylamplugh.org/suzys-story
Suzy Lamplugh – Did Jimmy Savile kill Suzy Lamplugh?
Whale
Did Jimmy Savile kill Suzy Lamplugh?
We now know that Jimmy Savile was a murderous VIP pimp as well as a paedophile.
He had very close links to the royals, Intel agencies and the UK and Israeli governments.
Savile famously threatened anybody who crossed his path and boasted that his contacts in the IRA and criminal underworld could be called on to assault or murder his enemies.
Some claim he was the real Yorkshire Ripper and the girls who were murdered knew about his child-raping ways and had to be silenced.
He spent a lot of time aboard the QE2, and was once kicked off the ship after allegations that he had attacked a 12-year old girl.
According to the Mirror:
“We may never know the full scale of his abuse, but there are several rumours emerging about his conduct on board cruise ships.” Cunard has now axed a planned sail-by of Savile’s burial site in Scarborough, along with several other commemorations”.
Many staff members, and possibly other passengers, on ship may have been witness to Savile’s paedophilic ways.
On one of Savile’s cruises, a fellow passenger mysteriously fell over board:
” A WOMAN disappeared from the luxury liner QE2 while passengers partied during a pounds 2,000-a-head New Year cruise.
Some voices claim that children and adults have been murdered on cruise ships and then thrown overboard.
By a strange coincidence, Cliff Richard also enjoys cruising.
” It’s a little known fact that holier than thou Reverend Cliff Richard loves to cruise.
A couple of years after the tragic death of Jill Dando, Reverend Cliff kindly organised a big cruising holiday for his closest chums to celebrate his 60th birthday.
He even managed to act as matchmaker and find a new love for Jill’s fiancé, Alan Farthing.
According to the Mail:
” Jill Dando’s former fiance Alan Farthing last night revealed he is taking the first tentative steps of a new romance with a beautiful actress.
Handsome gynaecologist Alan is dating 35-year-old Helen Hobson.
The couple met eight months ago on a cruise to celebrate Sir Cliff Richard’s 60th birthday”.
Some voices claim that Jill Dando was aware of Jimmy Savile and the paedophile ring operating at the BBC and was going to publish her findings and was shot in the head to silence her and warn other journalists to keep their mouths shut.
Strangely, Cliff Richard was one of the last people to speak to Jill and was questioned by police at the time of her murder.
Barry George was found innocent of all involvement in Jill’s death and was obviously a fall-guy for the Met.
Despite being wrongly jailed for 8 years he was cruelly denied compensation in a vile miscarriage of justice.
In 2006, Steve Wright was found guilty of the murders of 5 prostitutes in Ipswich, Suffolk.
Wright has always maintained his innocence of the crimes.
Were these girls also murdered to silence them and if so who was the real murderer?
The disappearance of estate agent, Suzy Lamplugh, has, to this day, never been fully solved. Several theories have been put forward including one claiming that she was killed by notorious serial killer Fred West.
She went missing after going to a property in Fulham to meet a mystery client named ‘Mr Kipper’.
Jill Dando lived in Fulham and at the time of Jill’s death, the Met linked Suzy’s disappearance to the murder.
According to the BBC:
” The policeman in charge of the Suzy Lamplugh inquiry, Detective Chief Superintendent Brian Edwards, is appointed as the investigating officer in overall charge of the Jill Dando murder case.”
In 2011, Mohamed Al-Fayed claimed that the Royals were involved in the death of Princess Diana. For some unknown reason, he likened Prince Philip to Fred West.
Some voices claim that Savile procured victims for the Royals to ‘sacrifice’ during Satanic rituals. Others claim that Fred West was a major player in the procurement operation.
On the comments section of a blog the following claims were made:
” Jimmy Savile was a satanist, along with Tony Hardman, Ken Bailey, Stephen Paul Merrfield, David Adams and others. The satanic circle involved people inside and outside the world of entertainment. David Adams murdered Clare Stagg during the 1980s and Sandra Court was murdered after she recognised some well known faces at the Steppes nightclub in Bournemouth.”
The murder of Sandra Court in 1986 was also linked to that of Suzy Lamplugh but was not pursued by police.
By a strange twist, it emerged during the trial of Steve Wright, that he was once a close work colleague of Suzy Lamplugh.
They had both worked together in the 1980′s aboard a cruise ship.
That cruise ship was the QE2.
Is there more to Savile, the QE2, the Royals, mysterious murders and innocent patsies than meets the eye?
We haven’t got a bloody clue.
Have you?
Are Fred West’s first victims buried in a Glasgow allotment? Hollywood producer urges police to reopen case amid claims the killer’s murder spree began in Scotland in the early 1960s
- Paul Pender, a Hollywood producer, wants to reopen the Fred West murder file
- He is urging police to search a Glasgow allotment for bodies from the 1960s
- Police Scotland said they will look at all evidence regardless of the time passed
Fred West may have murdered many more innocent people and buried them in an allotment in Glasgow, it has been claimed.
The serial killer and his deranged wife Rose murdered, raped and dismembered young women, including two of their own daughters.
But Fred, who killed himself before being brought to trial on twelve murder charges, is now believed to have killed many more.
Hollywood producer Paul Pender was tipped off about more victims at a family funeral by a man who worked with West’s first wife Rena who Fred later killed.
The former abattoir employee told Mr Pender to investigate further.
Fred West is known to have killed at least 12 women and ran over a young boy in Glasgow before moving to Gloucester
Serial killer couple Rose West (left) and Fred West (right) killed girls in their home. A Hollywood producer named Paul Pender believes more victims are buried in Glasgow
As a result the screenwriter believes there are more bodies buried in an allotment which West used in the early 1960s.
He said there is an ‘inarguable’ case to crack open the West file once more because we ‘owe it to the victims’.
Mr Pender believes high tech scanning equipment could be used on the ground.
Fred and Rose were finally arrested in 1994 and nine bodies were found at the house of horrors in Gloucester.
The rapes and horrifying killings took place between 1967 and 1987. Rose West was jailed for life for ten murders while Fred killed himself before court where he was charged 12 counts of murder.
Pender is also calling for officers to look into the death of Henry Feeney, a three-year-old in Glasgow’s Castlemilk district.
West ran him over in an ice-cream truck and at the time it was said to be an accident.
Murderer Fred West with his wife Rose and daughter Ann Marie pictured at Ann Marie’s wedding, in 1986. Anne Marie survived her murderous parents but attempted suicide later
But it is now believed West lured him to a quiet spot and ran him over on purpose by telling him to retrieve a ball from bushes, before reversing into him and killing him.
Fred West and Rena Costello, later Rena West, moved to Gloucester but after difficulties in the marriage Rena fled back to Scotland.
When she returned to Gloucester to find her daughter – who was not Fred’s child – she was killed by West who had already killed the girl named Charmaine.
Police Scotland said: ‘We will investigate all reports regardless of what time has passed and would encourage anyone who has information to come forward.’
Tony Hardman and Ken Bailey were party of the satanic network. Both were Bournemouth based and Hardman who originated from Manchester was a bit part actor and male prostitute, involved with a number of charities. He was a former stage manager and he was known as ‘the puppet master’ of Portarlington Road, where he moved from Bournemouth Road.
Tony Hardman ran Ivanhoe Leisure and was a former publicity manager at Bournemouth International Centre and Poole Arts Centre. He also ran a lucrative drug network hiding drugs in his collection of puppets.
Bailey had been a sportsman in his younger days and was very much involved with young people.
He used to fly to a number of sex parties, by light aircraft piloted by Stanley L Horobin who was born in North Wales and who lived at Verwood near Bournemouth, where Horobin was a director of a Bournemouth Radio Station and having a long term affair with a well known radio presenter, known as F*****g Fanny, who later found some positions at the BBC, including Wogan’s sidekick and she now does voice overs for commercials. Fran used to read the news on the BBC, but she passed on some unwelcome conditions to some gentleman, who had to seek medical treatment which did not endear her to the BBC Bosses, who drew the line at such carelessness.
She’s also anorexic and makes some lovely holy recordings about God !

Tony managed to get Jimmy Tarbuck to open our swimming pool – he knew a lot of people.
He bought himself a Lord of the Manor title and used to call himself Lord Hardman. He was in a satanists’ covern along with Ken Bailey who lived in Bournemouth, Jimmy Savile who also lived there, Chris Denning a D.J. who lived in Bpournemouth and is now in prison for paedophilia.
Sandra Court’s murder involved a number of people in the cover up.
She found out information which led to her death, because of what she knew.

Savile in Wales
Jimmy with brother Vince, sister-in-law Sadie and Vivian in Cymmer 1964 (pic)
As a former coal miner, Savile adored the Rhondda and its people.
Following the sad death of the 84-year-old last week, Savile’s Rhondda-raised nephew, Vivian Savile, paid tribute to his uncle.
Vivian recalls one of “Uncle Jim’s” visits to Porth in September 1964 when he was mobbed by hundreds of adoring fans.
But his visit made the front page of the Porth Gazette on September 19, 1964, which reported: “Nothing like it had ever been seen in Porth before.
On another occasion Vivian, 68, recalls Savile had ended up serving fish and chips at a local fish and chip shop.
“He went into Preece’s in Trebanog because he wanted some fish and chips,” he said.

In 1969 I was a patient at East Glamorgan Hospital Church Village where Vincent Savile was a DJ. Vincent appeared on the ward dressed as a Red Indian Chief with war paint and headdress asking for request for the hospital radio station. Very funny guy.
I’ve not seen much comment, nor mention on BBC that for few years Vince Savile was quite a high profile presenter on BBC Radio Wales.
Did he leave under a cloud or something?

A woman has described how she was “grabbed” by Jimmy Savile in the street when he was in Cardiff training for a half marathon 27 years ago.
The 47-year-old charity worker, who asked to be known only by her middle name, Josephine, said she was 19 when the Jim’ll Fix It star grabbed her “roughly” outside Cardiff castle.
She said she finally chose to speak out after reading about two sexual offences reported to South Wales Police in the city, including one in which Savile indecently assaulted a 21-year-old woman in the city in 1964.
The other involves a boy and a girl – both under 16 – being sexually assaulted by the star in the city in the early 1970s.
At 5ft 1in and weighing eight stone, Josephine was a petite and “young-looking” 19-year-old in September 1985 when she was assaulted by the TV presenter on the city’s Duke Street.
At the time, Savile was a familiar sight in the city, training regularly in the Bute Park area for that year’s Cardiff half marathon.
One of the oldest hospital broadcasting stations in South Wales – Radio Glamorgan – is celebrating its 40th birthday. (30 Mar 2007)
One of the founding members of the station was former BBC Wales employee Vince Savile, brother of TV legend Jimmy.
Back then, the station was based at Cardiff Royal Infirmary before moving to the basement of the UHW in 1974.
Its initial patrons included the Earl of Lisburne and the then Lord Lieutenant of South Glamorgan Sir Hugo Boothby. With the help of Rupert Moon, who is now President of Radio Glamorgan, the station was able to secure lottery funding to transfer to a new studio in 1999.
